Sterling Schedule Changes Effective Thursday, July 1

By News

Due to decreased demand, increased vaccinations and falling infection rates, Sterling Hot Yoga & Wellness will begin limiting the number of virtual classes being offered effective tomorrow, Thursday, July 1.

We had to quickly transition to virtual classes (and for a period virtual-only) due to COVID-19 and stay-at-home orders. For several weeks, this was the only way we could keep the Sterling community together!

If you regularly attend our streaming classes, please check the schedule to see what options are still available in this format.

To participate in these classes, you will need to register in advance to receive the link to join. The link will be sent approximately 15 minutes before the class begins.

Effective July 1, 2021, the following classes will be offered in the studio and online. All others will be in-studio only.

Mondays
7 p.m. Vinyasa Flow

Tuesdays
5:30 p.m. Inferno Hot Pilates
7 p.m. Original Hot 60

Wednesdays
5:30 p.m. Vinyasa Flow
7 p.m. Yin Yoga

Saturdays
8:15 a.m. Inferno Hot Pilates

Sundays
10 a.m. Original Hot 60

Classes Transition to Livestream Only with Threat of Hurricane Sally

By Announcement

Hurricane Sally is in the Gulf of Mexico and is gaining strength before it makes landfall along the coast.

We are keeping an eye on the storm and making what we feel are necessary precautions for the safety of our staff and students.

Beginning tonight, Monday, Sept. 14, we will offer livestreaming classes ONLY at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. This temporary change will affect ALL classes on Tuesday, Sept. 15 as well.

If you have already signed up to participate in studio for those classes affected, we will register you for the livestreaming option so you will receive the link to join the class online.

Our staff will be teaching from the safety of their homes, and we encourage you to join us online if you are able.

Thank you for your continued support of Sterling Hot Yoga & Wellness. We are just as committed to making the yoga and Pilates practices we offer to you available to help you take care of yourself despite challenges that may arise.

Please remain aware of the weather conditions over the next several days and stay safe!

Sterling Classes Now Available In Studio and Many Options Online!

By Announcement

Thank you to everyone who has continued to support Sterling Hot Yoga & Wellness in the Zoom Room and recently back in the studio!

We are still offering you as many options as possible to help you practice and stay connected to us.

You are welcome to join us at the studio (class sizes limited to 20 students, so remember to reserve your spot!).

We continue to offer our regular schedule via livestream too. (You’ll have to sign up to get your link to the Zoom Room.)

You can also access classes that were recorded live. Log in to Mind Body on your computer (not your mobile device) and clicking the “Live Class Recordings” tab at the top.

Select your favorite class or your favorite teacher and get your workout in on your own time.

Class recordings are FREE to current Sterling members.

Don’t forget our video channel here, where we’ll continue to keep adding content just for you.

Update from Sterling Hot Yoga & Wellness

By Announcement

We’ve always known that each of you contributes to the positive, healing and fun environment at Sterling Hot Yoga & Wellness.

But without your physical presence at the studio due to our temporary closure related to Covid-19, it is even more apparent. The studio is just not the same without you!

If you feel affected by fear, sadness or anxiety, I encourage you to reflect on an important benefit of a regular yoga or Pilates practice.

One of the most important things you learn on your mat that can translate off it is building resilience, the ability to act from a place of peace and calm regardless of the situation you are facing. Now more than ever, it’s important to keep moving, stay focused and stay strong.

We are making it easy for you to maintain your regular practice from the safety of your home.

Many of you have joined our livestream classes in our Zoom Room, and we’ve had nothing but positive comments from those who are participating.

Of course, it’s not the same as practicing in the studio, but this is a great opportunity to focus on other aspects of your practice, like stillness, breath and awareness.

But it still offers you a way to “meet” your friends in the hot room, and we all could use some connection to the outside world right now. (See instructions on how to join these classes below!)

Thank you again to everyone who is able to continue to support Sterling Hot Yoga & Wellness. By maintaining your membership, you are not only supporting the studio, but also each of our teachers who work tirelessly to provide compassionate guidance and knowledgeable instruction.

Even by sharing our social media posts, encouraging a friend to join us, offering words of support or sending positive vibes our way, know that we appreciate every thing you are able to do. We are eagerly looking forward to the day we can gather together again in the hot room.

Please call or email me if you have any questions or comments on how we can improve Sterling Hot Yoga & Wellness!

Let’s Stay Together at a Safe Distance! Practice With Us Via Livestream Classes

By Announcement

We’ve got to keep a safe social distance from each other, but we’re not going to let that stop you from practicing with us.

We would love to “see” you in class, and thanks to technology, we can! You can also stay connected to your favorite Sterling Hot Yoga & Wellness teachers during this time by joining our livestream classes!

ALL classes on our schedule can be practiced from your home, so even though we’re apart, we can be connected energetically.

Follow these steps so we can stay together and you can maintain your practice:

  1. Sign in to your account on Mind Body. Please note that you may have to reset your password. (Contact us if you need help.)
  2. Book your class. You’ll receive an email confirmation from FitGrid Live that you’ve registered.
  3. Watch your email for follow-up information, also from FitGrid Live, with a Zoom link to access the class if you choose.
  4. If you don’t see these emails, check the email address associated with your Mind Body account. (You can always update your email address in Mind Body.) Also check to be sure that you’ve opted in to receive all the email types under Subscriptions in the Contact tab in your Mind Body profile. If you still have issues, please email david@shywmobile.com or message us on Facebook.
  5. Log in to Zoom any time within the 30-minute window before the class starts. Be on time! You won’t be able to join a streaming class after it starts.
  6. Have a great class!

How to Prepare for Your Livestream Classes

Please be mindful that practicing at home will be much different from practicing at the studio. You’ll see and feel the difference! But keep these tips in mind so you get the most benefit despite this significant difference.

  1. If possible, practice in front of a mirror. It will help with your alignment and focus just like it does in the hot room!
  2. You can also use a heater if it’s available.
  3. Wear a long-sleeved shirt and leggings, as these will help you generate more body heat as well.
  4. Before class begins, do a one-minute plank to fire up all of the muscles in your body and build even more heat to warm you up for class!
  5. Without the heat, you will not be able to access the depth of each pose that you’re used to. That’s OK! This is a great opportunity to pay more attention to your alignment, your breath and your stillness.

Remember that even if you are practicing alone for the time being, we are still all in this together! Thank you for your presence (even virtually) that helps make Sterling Hot Yoga & Wellness the special place and community that it is!
