Myrtle Delgado Brings Baptiste Power Flow to Sterling!

By Announcement

Myrtle Delgado was a devoted runner, but injuries and physical therapy led her to consider other options. Three years ago, she found Sterling Hot Yoga & Wellness and took her first yoga class.

“I was skeptical of the whole yoga “thing,” but knew I needed a change and wow, what a change!” she said. “The physical demands of yoga were very real and yet maybe most surprising for me were the mental and spiritual benefits that accompany this practice. During a 60- or 90-minute class the mind can quiet and things become clear.”

Myrtle credits these personal discoveries with leading her to Fish Tree Yoga Studio in Pensacola, where she earned an RYT-200 Hour certification in February 2020 with Jan Atkins.

“This is when I learned and fell in love with the Baptiste Power Yoga!” she said. “The class is super-challenging on multiple levels. It is a vinyasa flow combining strength and balance through chaturangas, standing poses, forward bends, hip openers, introduction to back bends, arm balances and inversions all of which result in workout strengthening and toning the whole body! All the while it soothes the mind, bringing a calm and peace…”

Myrtle taught her first public class last Saturday, but if you missed it, you can join her Saturday, Aug. 22 at 2:30 p.m. for another power yoga class.

If you’re skeptical or prefer Inferno Hot Pilates or Bikram, that’s OK. Myrtle just encourages you to try it and see what you think. She was skeptical in the beginning too, but look at her now!

Reserve your spot online and be prepared for a challenging, but rewarding class this weekend.

Hot Vinyasa Fusion Has Been a HIT! Have You Tried It?

By Announcement

Looking for a class that combines the best of Bikram Yoga AND the best of vinyasa flow? We’ve got it! Hot Vinyasa Fusion has been a hit so far, and we’re bringing it back Monday, Aug. 10 at 7 p.m.

This class begins with several rounds of chaturangas, stretches and even some original hot yoga postures mixed in. Then it transitions to some balancing poses and floor work that will be very familiar if you practice the 26 and 2 regularly. It’s heated to about 100 degrees, so you will still work up a good sweat!

The original hot yoga sequence helps maintain and restore natural range of motion, but it is sometimes criticized for not having much of a focus on the upper body or hip openers. That’s where Hot Vinyasa Fusion comes in!

If you’ve tried it and loved it, Monday is your chance to practice it again. If you haven’t taken it yet, Monday is your chance to try it.

We’re looking at keeping this class on the schedule once a month on Mondays based on your feedback and attendance support, so please let us know what you think!
