Inferno Hot Pilates: Tabata and HIIT Decoded

By News

If you’ve taken Inferno Hot Pilates, you’ve heard your teacher mention Tabata method or high-intensity interval training (HIIT), but what does that mean?

We’ll break it down! The Tabata method was created in 1996 by scientist Izumi Tabata to analyze the effectiveness of a HIIT program developed for the Japanese Olympic Speed Skating Team.

His 20-seconds of intense workout at maximum effort (or 170% of VO2 max or maximum rate of oxygen consumption) followed by 10 seconds of rest was determined to improve cardiorespiratory endurance.

This very specific form of HIIT exercise burns fat, thanks to an elevated heart rate, and it protects and develops muscle tissue.

When it comes down to it, Tabata and HIIT combined in Inferno Hot Pilates is a challenging, yes, but FUN workout!

If you haven’t tried it, you’ll have to visit us at Sterling. No other studio in town offers Inferno Hot Pilates, and we offer it five times a week!

Inferno Hot Pilates: Why It Hurts So Good!

By News

Nearly four years ago, Sterling Hot Yoga & Wellness added Inferno Hot Pilates to its schedule, and y’all have been getting stronger ever since!

But how does Inferno Hot Pilates work? Why is it so hot? And why should you take it? Here’s the answers to all your questions and more!

Inferno Hot Pilates is a challenging, full-body workout that targets and strengthens your core, arms and legs.

By applying Pilates principles to a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) approach, you get results very quickly!

Inferno Hot Pilates is a safer approach and protects your joints as all exercises are done on the mat and there is no running or jumping.

It works by keeping your heart rate up, thanks to the HIIT approach, and helps you burn fat.

The smaller controlled movement of Pilates sculpt your body and create long, lean muscles.

The heat loosens up the muscles quickly, and the humidity makes you sweat.

Together that adds up to results and strength!

Try Inferno Hot Pilates, exclusively at Sterling, five times a week: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30 p.m., and Wednesdays (starting Jan. 15), Fridays and Saturdays at 8:15 a.m.

Don’t miss this opportunity to reach your fitness goals this year through a fun, challenging workout!
