Sterling Introduces Inferno Hot Pilates

By Announcement

inferno hot pilates, mobile al, sterling hot yogaSprite, Michelle and Lucille recently returned from Houston, where they attended an Inferno Hot Pilates teacher training! And now, they are excited to share this class with our Sterling community.

After just two classes, Lucille said she feels stronger and already can see muscle development.

Michelle, who has taken multiple Inferno Hot Pilates classes at Bikram Hot Yoga Huntsville, said it’s a challenging practice that delivers quick results and helps you realize greater potential in yourself!

The course was taught by the world-renowned Gabriella Walters, who designed and founded Inferno Hot Pilates. The class is a fun, challenging, full-body, low-impact, high-intensity practice using the principles of Pilates, including mindfulness, humility, control and breath.

Performed on a yoga mat and towel in a slightly heated room with energetic music, Hot Pilates is an amazing practice that strengthens muscles and burns fat. It is designed for all fitness levels. Both men and women love it!

Mobile is the first studio in Lower Alabama to offer this amazing class! I am confident that you, like me, will find this class to be life-changing!

We will offer Inferno Hot Pilates on Tuesday at 6:15 p.m.*, Thursday at 8:15 a.m. and Saturday at 9:30 a.m.* Starred class times will rotate with other offerings, so be sure check the schedule to verify class type.

Breathe! Everything Else Is Optional!

Muscles of the Diaphragm

The more I learn about the body, the more impressed I am with the original series that brought me to Mobile.

A while ago, I came across a 3D video of the diaphragm in action. (Take a look by clicking here or on the photo to the right.)

When you inhale, the diaphragm lowers, providing space and a vacuum in order to draw air into the body.

When you exhale, the diaphragm rises, to create positive pressure enough to push the air out of the lungs. It seems very simple, but truly, there’s nothing simple about it.

There are many muscles involved in the act of breathing.

We talk a lot about the intercostals, the muscles in between the ribs, but that’s really a simplification of the process.

Muscles of the Thoracic Wall

Suffice it to say that there’s a lot involved in taking a breath. Check here or on the photo to the right for a nice primer.

Think about Pranayama Deep Breathing.

Think about how you are conditioning the muscles involved in breathing.

Think about how you are stretching and strengthening the very important elements that allow you to do the one thing that you MUST DO to stay alive! What a wonderful thing to do!

When we tell you “Breathe—everything else is optional,” we truly mean it!

If you or anyone else you know can come in and take a couple of deep breaths, that’s REALLY important! That’s all you need to do!

Because once you get the systems required to breathe down, everything else will come more easily.

Julia Szvath to Visit Sterling Hot Yoga Mobile

By Announcement

julia svath holistic therapyThe last time Lucille was in Mexico, she worked with Julia Szvath to identify the patterns of thought that were not serving her and that may have caused the dis-ease she was diagnosed with or at least got in the way of her healing.

Through breath work, body work and emotional exploration, Julia’s holistic approach has helped Lucille to heal her body, mind and spirit.

Julia says that, “A holistic approach is crucial to achieving long-lasting positive results. Treating the whole individual as an interconnected being rather than treating a symptom or an illness is the key to re-establishing balance, peace and harmony. We all have the power to make ourselves happy and well.”

Julia will be in Mobile on March 22. If you are interested in working with her, let Lucille know. Learn more about Julia at exclusivepersonalretreats.com.

People are loving the Rest-Air-Ation class! It’s a short, 30-minute class with a focus on breath, and it’s designed to provide grounding, calmness, open your heart and help you to just feel good.

Kangen Water Is Now Available!

By News

kangen water health benefits sterling hot yogaAs many of you know, after Lucille was diagnosed with breast cancer, she incorporated a number of holistic therapies to improve her body’s immunity system and thus her overall health. A.J. Krause immediately stepped up to help (a million thanks, A.J.!) and provided her with Kangan water.

Cancer thrives in a low-pH (acid) environment and does not like a high-pH (alkaline) environment. Kangan water changes tap water, which usually has a pH of about 7, to a pH of 9.5. But it does much more than that!

Lucille says she feels so much better since incorporating Kangen water in her diet, and Bill also enjoys the benefits it provides! Now you can too! Many diseases have been linked to a lack of oxygen and a build up of toxic acid waste in our bodies.

In today’s world, most people’s bodies tend to be more acidic and oxygen-deprived due to environmental toxins, poor diets, nutritional deficiencies, stress and sleep deprivation, which leads to all kinds of health challenges including cancers. Kangen water promotes health by balancing our internal environment with the following properties:

1) High anti-oxidation: The presence of a great amount of active hydrogen ions in Kangen water contributes to its high anti-oxidation, anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties.

2) Micro clustering: The size of ionized Kangen water molecules are up to 5 times smaller than non-ionized water, allowing for better penetration, absorption and hydration.

3) Alkalinization: Helps to neutralize acidic waste and alkalinize body fluids for optimal health.

We will make Kangen water available at the studio for you in three ways so you can enjoy all of these benefits:

  • Fill up your bottle before and after class for $1
  • Fill up a gallon bottle for $2
  • Get unlimited water for $20/month (less than $1 per day!

Got questions? A.J. Krause will discuss the benefits of Kangen water with a short demonstration during the following dates and times:

  • Before and after evening classes on Monday, March 14
  • Before and after morning classes on Tuesday, March 15
  • Before and after morning classes on Saturday, March 19

New Sterling Classes to Be Added!

By Announcement
new yoga class schedule

We are adding a few new offerings to the Sterling lineup! We encourage you to try each one and incorporate these classes into your practice. Keep your eye on the schedule—new class times may change and evolve in order to encourage best attendance.

Rest-Air-Ation: a 30-minute class focused on conscious breathing. This particular breath class is based on a Kundalini sequence designed to open the heart, provide a calming effect, eliminate unnecessary thoughts and feelings, and be more present. Rest-Air-Ation will be offered initially on Friday after the 9:30 am class and on Saturday after the 9:30 am class. As it grows, more classes will be added.

Melting Pot Meditation: In foundries, a melting pot is a metal, clay, or ceramic vessel in which metal is melted. At Sterling, we offer a class of guided meditation in order to allow your body to melt away your fears, concerns and trifling thoughts. Melting Pot Meditation will be led a few times a month by a variety of individuals skilled in the practice of mindful thinking and rumination. Betsey Grady led a very popular guided meditation a few months ago, and she will be back again on February 24. We will offer two melting pots in March. Check the schedule for this periodic offering so you don’t miss it!

Hot Bronze Flow: The Sanskrit word “Vinyasa” refers to a transition between two different positions, so the emphasis is on the flow from one posture to the next. Vinyasa also means one breath, one movement. If you practice Iron Hour, you will be familiar with some of the postures in Hot Bronze Flow, but there will be many more that will challenge your core, your balance and your mind. Brooke Nisbet will be leading Hot Bronze Flow on Tuesdays at 6:15pm. You’re going to love her!
