What year did you first start practicing yoga?
I started seriously practicing yoga in 2006, but had been doing it off and on since I was a kid. I took my first Bikram class in 2014.

Was there any particular reason you started practicing yoga?
My gymnastic coach taught me yoga to increase flexibility and concentration.

Favorite posture and why?
Standing Bow is one of my favorites because it involves concentration, strength and flexibility. It’s also one of those poses that change from day to day for me. Some days I can stay in it forever, other days I can hardly kick up!

Why do you currently practice this yoga?
This yoga gives me an outlet for my hectic life. I feel like if I can survive 90 minutes in the hot room with a grin on my face, I can take on just about anything.

What do you love about teaching yoga?
I love helping people heal their minds and bodies. It’s also great when students have that aha moment, like finally kicking out in standing head to knee or grabbing their heels in camel. It’s an amazing and honoring process to be a part of.

Two things most people don’t know about you?
I have a younger brother that is 6′ 4″ (I got the short genes).
I have an enormous collection of vintage signs and music posters.
