What year did you first start practicing yoga?
Was there any particular reason you started practicing yoga?
My brother talked me into my first class after spending the day in a pub. It wasn’t pretty. I went back later because I threw out my back and needed relief.
Favorite posture and why?
I love all the poses equally, but I need the back strengthening series most to help heal my lower back.
Why do you currently practice this yoga?
I absolutely love the way I feel when I have a regular practice. I feel strong and healthy and able to take on the world!
What do you love about teaching yoga?
There’s no better job in the world. It’s truly my vocation. I love watching people make connections – you can see so much joy (yes, there’s joy in the hot room) when people have a breakthrough, or they understand the relationship between muscle groups or simply have the ability to focus on one thing during their time in the hot room. I absolutely love giving people the space and time to heal themselves.
Two things most people don’t know about you?
I traveled alone across Patagonia.
I was on the ski team in college.
