Candlelight Yin + Yoga Nidra Sterling Hot Yoga Meditation Yin Yoga Mobile ALOne of our most popular pop-up classes is back on the schedule Sunday, June 2 from 4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Candlelight Yin + Yoga Nidra combines the slower-paced practice of yin yoga with the calming meditation of a yoga nidra–and both are set against the backdrop of candlelight.

If you have not experienced this combination, please plan to! Yoga nidra is an ancient practice, mentioned in some of the earliest yogic texts.

In some of these instances, it is described as a “dream state,” and it is often referred to as “yogic sleep.”

Yoga nidra is a powerful guided meditation that helps address and alleviate many medical conditions, as well as reducing anxiety and depression, resetting negative thought patterns and beliefs, and more.

Non-Sterling members can experience this class at a special drop-in rate of $10. You can reserve your spot here!

Be aware that this class fills up quickly, and while we do provide props, such as blocks and bolsters, at the studio, you are welcome to bring your own, as well as a blanket, small pillow or eye pillow to help make you comfortable during the yoga nidra.

On Friday, May 24, you can check out Sterling for free and enjoy some free sushi with us after class.

Silent Original Hot Yoga Class The BeatlesDid you miss the first in our new series of silent original hot yoga classes to music? It’s back on the schedule this month!

Join Sprite and the sounds of the lads from Liverpool on Thursday, May 23 at 6:45 p.m.

Set your moving meditation to the influential sounds of the Fab Four and the iconic British Invasion band who some say changed music forever.

We recommend that students have completed at least 10 Original Hot Yoga classes before taking this class.

During a silent class, expect no dialogue. The teacher leading the class will demonstrate and announce the each of the postures from the beginner’s series and when to change.

Get Grounded With a Special Earth Day Hot Vinyasa Flow on Monday, April 22

Earth Day Yoga Sterling Hot Yoga Mobile ALApril 22nd is an important day–it’s Earth Day! This is the day that we take action for our planet.  

What can we do to make sustainable choices in our world? Save our oceans and wildlife by limiting water usage? Recycle and compost our scraps, or maybe change what we eat?  

There are so many things we can do on a daily basis to support our Mother Earth.  

We can also use this day to draw attention to creating a stronger connection to the Earth as well!

Join Melanie for an Earth Day-themed Hot Vinyasa Flow class on Tuesday, April 22 at 6:45 p.m. to explore how our roots connect to the Earth.  

This class will focus on hips and legs to ground ourselves through a firm foundation. We’ll see you there!

Candlelight Yin + Yoga Nidra - March 2019Our first Candlelight Yin + Yoga Nidra class was a hit, so we’re excited to bring it back this month!

On Sunday, March 31 from 4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m. you can enjoy the blissful combination of yin and yoga nidra by candlelight!

You can expect 60 minutes of yin, followed by 30 minutes of yoga nidra, often called yogic sleep.

This class is open to the public for a $10 drop-in and is included in memberships for active Sterling students.

Find Your Balance — In Your Practice and In Your Life

Arm Balance Workshop Sterling Hot Yoga Mobile ALJoin Sprite on Saturday, Feb. 23 from Noon to 1:30 p.m. for an arm balance workshop to learn techniques and tips on finding and maintaining balance while practicing arm balancing postures.  

Balancing requires constant focus, which helps strengthen the connection to the present moment.

Yet, when the challenge of balancing on your hands is added, it requires even more mental focus, concentration and awareness.

As a result, arm balances can also help to increase self-confidence, courage and inner strength.

Learn more about the foundations for arm balancing, like body mechanics and leverage, as well as tips and stretches to help you fly.

Start with basics, then build on those to more advanced postures for those who are ready.  

This workshop will include arm balances that may be part of your Vinyasa Flow classes, plus instruction will be given on preparatory poses that help you build up to new ones to add to your practice.

Platinum Plus Returns Saturday, Feb. 16

Platinum Plus Intermediate Yoga Sterling Hot Yoga Mobile ALIt’s been a little while, but Platinum Plus is back! We’re excited to offer this 75-minute combination of postures, which include the 26/2 of the beginner’s sequence, intermediate Ghosh postures and others similar to what you would practice in vinyasa or yin.

You don’t have to even consider yourself an “intermediate” yogi to take this class. All you have to do is TRY!

We recommend that you have practiced the 26/2 sequence for a minimum of three months before taking this class. This class is offered for a $10 drop-in rate.
