18 in 18 Challenge Update: Whoa, We’re (Almost) Halfway There!

By News

18 In 18 Challenge SHYW

Exciting news, challengers! The “18 in 18” Challenge is ALMOST at the halfway mark, and we’re so excited that we’ve still got several yogis who are meeting the minimum monthly class requirement.

Remember, you don’t have to do 18 classes each month to be entered to win the annual membership or one of the two Fitbit fitness trackers. Just AVERAGE 18 classes a month.

That means there are some of you who are well within reach to getting back on track to finish the year with the 216 total required classes.

Stick with it! Everyone who meets that number gets a Dri-FIT pullover featuring the Sterling and challenge logos. Plus, what an awesome achievement maintaining a consistent practice all year long will be!

These Sterling yogis completed at least 18 classes in May:

Robert Carlock, 25 Casey Kuluz, 20
Sheri Granberry, 25 Reid Gilbert, 20
Sujin Kim, 23 Paula Brown, 19
Christy Lock, 21 Michelle Wilson, 19
Mendy Bornfleth, 20

Get Hot! Inside Out, Bones to Skin

By News

The weather is starting to warm up, and it will get even hotter before you know it!

When that happens, very often people start to practice less often, feeling that they get plenty of heat outdoors.

But in reality, this is the time of year when you need to practice even MORE and here’s why:

  1. If you practice in the hot room, outside won’t seem so hot
  2. It’s nice to tighten and tone for beach season
  3. We have several classes on the schedule that aren’t as hot as the Sterling 60 and Gold 90–you have a choice!

It’s especially important when the weather heats up to HYDRATE! As a general rule, you should drink a minimum of half your body weight in ounces every day. Try to drink even a little more during the hottest months. Water, coconut water and fresh juices are all good options.

Take care of yourself, and keep up your practice! You won’t regret the sense of accomplishment, the progress you see and the way you feel when you just show up on your mat. After all, the only class anyone regrets is the one they didn’t come to!

Why Yoga and Massage Are Best Enjoyed Together!

By News

Massage and Yoga Benefits of MassageThe combination of yoga with massage is an exceptional blend of healthfulness of mind and body.

Many people who make use of this combination will often discuss between themselves the benefits of massage before or after yoga.

Before yoga, massage can help relax the body and mind, allowing you to let go of the day’s distractions, while providing a more focused yoga session.

Concentration just may become easier in those intense poses!

Massage after a yoga session is magical. This is one of the most relaxing and tranquil states of mind you can experience.

Your muscles are warm and flexible, allowing the therapist to work deeply, stretching warm muscles and providing passive stretching (highly underrated in my book!)–all with less discomfort.

Be sure to schedule plenty of leisure time afterwards; you’ll want to enjoy this peaceful feeling as long as possible. Consider a warm stone add-on to deepen the bliss.

Are you ready to experience the luxurious combination of yoga and massage? Be sure to practice regularly, and schedule an appointment with Arnie at Sterling Hot Yoga Mobile by contacting him at 251-533-6048 or arnie615@hotmail.com.

Midtown Publix Update: Road Closures

By News

Publix Road Closure SterlingAmong the exciting changes in Midtown Mobile—and around Sterling—is the opening of the new Publix development, including several retail shops and restaurants, in early 2018!

This promises to increase the visibility of the studio and energize our little corner of the city in a positive way.

However, construction is going to affect your access to the studio next week with the closure of Florida Street from Old Shell to Dauphin Street beginning Tuesday, Dec. 5 through Friday, Dec. 8.

Plan accordingly and pack some patience as you make your way to the studio next week. Just think of it as a small price to pay for an even stronger Sterling in the very near future!

Check out WKRG’s complete story about the closings—you might just see a familiar face on the news!
